Design
Correlational: VARK questionnaire plus a study-strategies survey, related to final course grade. No random assignment and no crossover test, so it cannot test meshing; it tests the weaker claims that students study in line with their VARK profile and that doing so pays.
Key findings
Most students did not report study strategies matching their VARK assessment; VARK category scores did not correlate with course performance; and alignment between strategy and VARK had no correlation with outcomes. Some specific strategies (e.g. virtual microscope use) predicted grades irrespective of VARK.
Genetic confound
High - entirely cross-sectional with self-selected study behaviour.
